The role

Ongoing, full-time AUD$102,486 to AUD$165,866 p.a. (plus 17% pension) Additional clinical load and remuneration for after-hours duties Wagga Wagga, NSW (relocation and migration assistance provided)

We are currently seeking an outstanding equine surgeon and educator who will actively contribute to professional and academic leadership in the provision of high quality equine surgical services at our Veterinary Clinical Center in Wagga Wagga.

Working alongside senior equine medicine, theriogenology and equine surgery clinicians, anesthetists and technical staff, you will join a team focused on delivering high quality clinical services, teaching and research. You will be expected to deliver teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students (residents) in both a clinical and didactic setting.

To be successful in this role, you will have proven leadership and stakeholder engagement abilities, with a demonstrated commitment to upholding the University’s values ​​and advancing the discipline of equine surgery and the veterinary profession.

Eligibility for registration as a veterinarian with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of NSW is essential for this position in addition to specialist qualifications in equine surgery or fitness to obtain.

The successful candidate will be employed in either a teaching research or teaching professional work function and will have access to the University’s generous relocation support scheme.

To be successful you will have:

Qualification relevant to the level applied for, or equivalent accreditation and status Eligibility for registration as a veterinarian with the Veterinary Practitioners Board or NSW Board Certification by the American and/or European College of Veterinary Medicine and/or the Australian and NZ College of Veterinary Scientists or eligibility to sit board examination or equivalent A record of research/creative works or professional activity relevant to the discipline, and for level C and D applicants, academic achievement at a national and/or international reputation Commitment to the delivery of high quality student-centred learning, and for level C and D applicants, demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership and/or build people’s capacity in an academic environment
