UNCASVILLE, Connecticut — Natisha Hiedeman and Maccabi Ashdod defeated Hapoel Rishon LeZion 91-80 in an Israel League matchup on Monday, January 23. She also added six rebounds, three assists and a steal as Maccabi Ashdod advanced to 13-0 in the Israeli league.

Alyssa Thomas, Brionna Jones and USK Prague defeated BC Polkowice 92-57 in EuroLeague competition on Wednesday January 25th. Thomas had 16 points, eight rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block. Jones added eight points, nine rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block. The win moves USK Prague to second place in Group A of the EuroLeague table with an 8-3 record. On Friday, January 27, Jones, Thomas and USK Prague won Czech league opponents Chomutov 125-50. Jones had 24 points, nine rebounds, a steal and two blocks. Thomas added six points, four rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block to the win.

DeWanna Bonner and CBK Mersin defeated DVTK Hun-Therm 78-77 in the EuroLeague game on Thursday, January 26. Trailing 77-74 with 57 seconds remaining in the contest, Bonner scored the final four points of the game to seal her team’s victory. She led her team with 25 points, two rebounds, three assists and a steal while CBK Mersin moved 7-4 to third in EuroLeague Group B standings. On Saturday, January 28, Bonner and CBK Mersin clinched a 90-85 victory over Turkish league opponents Bursa. Bonner led her team to victory with 20 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Olivia Nelson-Ododa and the Melbourne Boomers lost a close game to the Perth Lynx on Saturday 28 January, 91-82. Nelson-Ododa had 19 points, six rebounds, three steals and three blocks. The loss sees the Boomers slip to second overall in the WNBL standings, 11-4.

Joyner Holmes and Sassari defeated Libertas Moncalieri 79-65 in the Italian league. Holmes ended Sassari’s fourth straight Italian league win with 18 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Connecticut Sun players are back abroad this week, starting with Bonner and CBK Mersin taking on Schio at 11:00am ET; and Jones, Thomas and USK Prague play Fenerbahce on January 31 at 13:00 ET. Bonner and CBK Mersin play Bellona Kayseri on February 3 at 10:00 ET. On February 4, Holmes and Sassari take on Campobasso at 2:30 p.m. ET; and Nelson-Ododa and Melbourne play Bendigo at 11:00 p.m. ET. To wrap up the week, Ty Harris and Cankaya play Hatay on February 5th at 5:00pm ET.
